Students in Grades K-3 classes in our school have been invited to participate in the 2021 Student Census Pilot Study.
About the Student Census Pilot Study
This pilot study will help HCDSB determine how to best collect identity-based information (i.e., race, gender, language, etc.) from students and/or parents using a survey method. The pilot study will also help our school board prepare for the Board-wide Census in 2023.
Some important notes about the survey:
- The survey is only available to select classes in our school.
- The survey is completely voluntary.
- Participants are able to skip any questions they do not want to answer.
- The survey should take no longer than 10 minutes to complete.
Watch an information video about the Student Census Pilot Study HERE.
Parents of students in select classes have been emailed directly with more information about the Student Census Pilot Study:
Please see the information below for signing up any students in Grades 6-8 for summer school. Information was also sent to parents earlier in an email.
Please note that due to the current COVID-19 situation, the health and well-being of our students continues to remain our highest priority. All Session 1 and Session 2 classes will be offered in a distance (e-learning) format this summer.
For program details, please review the following information sheet: Literacy and Math Distance Learning Summer Programs
Online registration is available for Session 1 and Session 2. You may register your child for one or both sessions by filling out the following online form: Summer Distance
The deadline to register is June 24, 2021. No registrations will be accepted after June 24th .
Responsible Digital Citizenship
We would like to remind our students and families of the policies around the acceptable use of personal electronic devices. Catholic School Codes of Conduct continue to be important in our Distance Learning Environment. As students continue to work in virtual classrooms, it is important to remind children about the norms and expectations for online communication. They may be used for texting or chatting with friends on social media, but how they interact in the online school setting will be different. Thank you for your continued partnership during this time.
