Distribution of Report Cards

This year, in light of the school closures due to COVID-19, student report cards will be delivered electronically. The report cards will be delivered directly to parents and guardians by email on Wednesday, June 24, 2020.  Parents and guardians will need their child’s Ontario Education Number (OEN) in order to access the report card. Your child’s OEN number can be found on a previous report card.  

The Ministry has waived the expectation for both a teacher and parental signature for this reporting period.  The School Principal’s electronic signature will appear on all student report cards. 

As with all reporting periods, parents and guardians may contact their child’s teacher to arrange a time to discuss the report card. You are also welcome to contact our school administration with any questions or should you require further clarification. 

Parent Retrieval of Student Belongings and Return of School Items

Retrieval of student belongings and return of school items will be taking place on June 23rd and 24th. Following protocols provided by our Halton Public Health Department, parents have received an email invitation with a scheduled appointment to retrieve their children’s belongings. If you have not received an email, please contact Mrs. van Hooydonk to ensure your contact information is correct.

Please remember to return items you have at home that belong to the school such as library books, technology, team uniforms, and textbooks during your scheduled pick-up/drop-off time. A curbside approach for pick-up and drop-off is organized at 5 access points by family last names:

  • Last names beginning with A-C will be picking up/dropping off at the Front School entrance
  • Last names beginning with D-J will be picking up/dropping off at the East-Side entrance (YMCA door)
  • Last name beginning with K-Mc will be picking up/dropping off at the Back-Door Intermediate entrance (by gym doors)
  • Last name beginning with Me-P will be picking up/dropping off at the Back-Door Primary/Jr entrance
  • Last name beginning with R-Z will be picking up/dropping off at the West-Side entrance (next to Kindergarten entry)

End of Year Virtual Liturgy

We are in the process of organizing a virtual liturgy to come together with our community on the last day of school, June 26th at 11:00 am. This will be an opportunity to pray together, celebrate together, and say good-bye while wishing everyone a safe summer. It will be a live TEAMs meeting where staff, students, and parents will be invited to join in the event. Father Con will be joining us as well, and we look forward to ending the year together in this special way!

The link for the virtual liturgy will be posted in your children’s online classrooms early in the week. It will also be emailed out to parents before the liturgy. You can join the session by clicking on the link:

Join Microsoft Teams Meeting

You will then be directed to the following web page: 

TEAMS will work on an iPhone or tablet by downloading the app. You can also download the app onto your computer. If you wish to join via those methods, you will need to download the app in advance of the virtual liturgy. Alternatively, you can click on “Join on the web instead”.

You will input your name and make sure that the video and audio options are selected to be off.  At this point, you will click the ‘join now’ button to join the session. 

Parents of Students with Medical Conditions

Near the end of the school year, the school usually sends home a copy of current Student Plan of Care for any students with medical conditions (anaphylaxis, asthma, heart conditions, seizure conditions, diabetes, etc.). Parents would update this and return prior to end of year.

This year, copies of the Student Plan of Care will not come home in June. The Plan of Care will continue as is. Upon return to school, the Student Plan of Care will be sent home to parents to review and update if necessary.

If your child has a change in their condition over the summer, please inform the school in the week prior to students returning.

Congratulations to Our Grade 8 Graduates!

On Monday, June 22nd our Grade 8 students will celebrate their graduation with a virtual ceremony and a curb-side pick-up. It is a wonderful way to be together while apart to celebrate a successful year. Thank you to all the parents, staff, and students for working together in making this graduation meaningful! The link for the virtual ceremony will be shared on our website following the graduation day.

Distance Learning

Thank you, parents, for supporting and working with our teachers to educate your children throughout this school closure period. We appreciate the many positive comments and feedback that we have received from you. It is a pleasure for our staff to continue to work in partnership with you! Distance Learning will end on June 26th (last day of school).

Happy Summer Break!

We would like to thank all our parents and students for a wonderful year at St. Vincent School even though this was not the year any of us anticipated. We thank you for your on-going support and encouragement as we navigated this new way of learning during the school closure. We wish you a relaxing and restful summer break. Take some time to spend with your families and rejuvenate, and we look forward to seeing you in the new school year.
