I know you have big dreams for yourself, but don’t forget to appreciate how far you’ve come already. Remember the days you prayed for the things you have now~ Ruben Chavez

Goodbye and God Bless
Each year at this time we have to say goodbye to those who are leaving St Vincent to share their gifts and talents in other communities. We have been enriched by your presence here at our school and you will be greatly missed! May God bless you abundantly as you continue your journey in Catholic Education.
At this time, we say goodbye to the following staff members:
~ Miss Sehn, Mrs. Vrbensky, and Mrs. Marchesano will be moving on to new schools in the Fall. Thank you for the time you’ve spent at St. Vincent. We hope our paths will cross again and we wish you the best on your continued educational journey.
~ Miss Passarelli will be moving on to teach at St. John Paul II School in Oakville
~ Ms. LaFleur will be moving on to be a SERT at Our Lady of Peace in Oakville
~ Mrs. Glinski has announced her retirement. We thank her for her dedication of over 20 years at St. Vincent and wish her all the best in this new phase of her life.
Welcome to St Vincent
We welcome back Ms. De Bellis from her leave of absence. She will be teaching grade 1 at our school. We welcome Ms. Skinner, joining us from Elizabeth Seton. Ms. Skinner will be our DECE in the kindergarten classroom. We welcome Mr. Bartlett, joining us from St. Marguerite School. Mr. Bartlett will be a grade 5 teacher at our school.
Parent Retrieval of Student Belongings and Return of School Items
Retrieval of student belongings and return of school items will be taking place on June 23rd and 24th. Following protocols provided by our Halton Public Health Department, parents have received an email invitation with a scheduled appointment to retrieve their children’s belongings. If you have not received an email, please contact Mrs. van Hooydonk to ensure your contact information is correct.
We ask that you begin considering which items you have at home that belong to the school such as library books, technology, team uniforms, and textbooks, and plan for their return during the last week of school. Our staff will be packing up students’ belongings in the classroom and lockers, as well as any medication, for their safe return to you.
Grade 8 Graduation
On Monday, June 22nd beginning at 6:30 pm, we will have a curbside diploma pick up for our Graduates. Families will receive a scheduled time to arrive, along with a safety protocol via email from their classroom teacher. We respectfully request that all families adhere strictly to the protocol. We will also be sharing the link to the virtual ceremony with families on that day.
Virtual Play Day
We are happy to share that we will be having a virtual Play Day! As leaders of the school, some of our grade 8’s will guide students through play day activities each day beginning June 15th. We still wanted to celebrate our tradition of play day, and give our grade 8’s one last leadership opportunity!
For the week of June 15th, teachers will post one video per day of an activity. Each activity can be tailored to be completed indoors or outdoors, and with little spaces or large spaces. Equipment can be modified. Each class is it’s own team, as they virtually complete the activities at home.
Let’s come together as a community and share in this virtual celebration of active living and school spirit! Please feel free to share some pictures with the classroom teacher to post on our Twitter feed.
Virtual End of Year Liturgy
We are in the process of organizing a virtual liturgy to come together with our community on the last day of school, June 26th. This will be an opportunity to pray together, celebrate together, and say good-bye while wishing everyone a safe summer. More information on the time will be communicated with parents as we finalize the event. It will be a live TEAMs meeting where staff, students, and parents will be invited to join in the event. We look forward to ending the year together in this special way!
Courtesy Seats on School Buses for the 2020-21 School year
Families with children who take the bus to school are advised that the application process for receiving courtesy seats on school buses will be delayed for the 2020-21 school year. Due to physical distancing measures in place to prevent the spread of COVID-19, it may not be possible to grant courtesy seats or the process may be delayed for next school year.
However, parents and guardians can continue to submit a Courtesy Seat Application, and will be notified via email once a decision on this process has been made.
Please note that there is no guarantee that a courtesy seat will be offered if you submit an application, or if your child had a courtesy seat in the past. Visit the Halton Student Transportation Services website for more information: www.haltonbus.ca
Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.
Moving? Please let us know!
Please let the office know as soon as possible if your child(ren) will be attending another school in September by emailing Mrs. Van Hooydonk. This information helps us with our planning as we begin to think about building tentative classes for next year.
