Lent is a good time for sacrificing. Let us deny ourselves something everyday to help others ~ Pope Francis
Congratulations to all our classroom representatives who presented at our school level public speaking competition. All your speeches were inspiring and thought-provoking. Thank you to our judges: Ms. Carnelos, Mr. Guerin and Mrs. Hogan, and to Mrs. Tabrizi for organizing the event. Congratulations to Avery who will be representing our school at the Regional Public Speaking Competition on April 1st with her speech on Changes. We are so proud of you!
Cover to Cover
Congratulations to the following classes for winning the Cover to Cover reading contest for their division: Mrs. Cyr’s Grade 2s, Ms. LaFleur’s Grade 4s, and Ms. Zarafonitis’ Grade 8s. We are so proud of all our students who took on the challenge to read daily during this past month. Thank you to Mrs. Wilson and our Literacy Committee parent volunteers for organizing this yearly event!
Black History Month Presentation – March 10th
We are excited to welcome Leslie McCurdy who will give a presentation to our Grade 4-8 students on “The Spirit of Harriet Tubman”. This will be a wonderful way to culminate the learning our students have had throughout Black History Month.
Our annual Book Bonanza will take place in June. This is a wonderful event where we sell used books to help support our library. If you are doing any Spring cleaning, we are accepting used book donations in preparation for this event. Please drop off any donations at the office or library. Thank you for your on-going support!
March Break – March 16-20
A reminder that March Break takes place during the week of March 16-20th. We wish all our families a wonderful March Break. May you find time to rest, enjoy and spend quality time together. We will see you back at school on Monday, March 23rd!
