Update – March 27th

Dear Parents/Guardians,

I hope this message finds you well and healthy. I would like to thank you for your understanding, patience, and prayers during this time. Again, on behalf of our staff please know we are thinking of you and missing our students. You should have or will be receiving communication from your child’s teacher in some form by Monday. If you have not, please let me know. Please continue to post on Twitter using the hashtag #TogetherApartHCDSB and tagging our school @StVincentOak and the Board @HCDSB so we can continue to feel connected as a community. I cannot tell you how happy it makes me seeing the familiar faces I miss so much!

There are a few updates posted on our website I would encourage you to explore. There are some new resources for parents since the original information was sent out from the Ministry and Board. As was previously communicated, if the school year closure extends beyond April 5th, more information will be communicated on how we will connect and engage students in teacher-led instruction within a distance learning environment.

In the meantime, here are links on our website for learning resources:

1.    Learn at Home: https://elem.hcdsb.org/stvincent/2020/03/learning-resources-released-by-ministry-of-education-2/

2.    Digital Learning Resources: https://elem.hcdsb.org/stvincent/2020/03/digital-learning-resources/

Finally, this is a difficult time for many families. If you know of any families who may be in need of additional food support during this time, please contact Food for Life @ 905-635-1106 ext. 7 or go online goodfood@foodforife.ca

Thank you for your continued support. I continue to pray for our community. Please continue to join me in praying for the safety and well-being of those who are sick, and those who are working on the frontlines to care for them.

Please take care of yourself and your family.

Sincerely,

P. Uniacke
