We need smiling Christians, not because they take things lightly, but because they are filled with the joy of God, because they believe in love and live to serve. – Pope Francis
A Caring Family Member
Our Catholic Graduate Expectation focus for the month of November is A Caring Family Member. Every morning over the announcements, students will hear about what it means to be A Caring Family Member:
I love God, myself and my family
I care about and respect my ‘family’ at school, at Church, in the community, and the world
I care about and respect God’s creation and everything in it
Because I care, I pray for all my families, and I will live my life like Jesus.

Book of Life
This year we will participate in the ‘Book of Life’ with our St. Timothy School Community.
In the Catholic Church, the month of November is dedicated to the souls of all those who have died. As Catholics we believe in the Paschal Mystery. We believe that because we are baptized, death is not final but an entrance into eternity.
We as the people of God we are called into community with one another and so we would like to extend an invitation for our school community to send in the names of loved ones that our school community will pray for. Families can send names and classroom staff can feel free to add names onto a form provided to teachers and this form will be placed into the “Book of Life Binder”. These names will reside in our Book of Life and Remembrance which will be placed on our Sacred Space on the alter in the foyer. The names in this book will be prayed for daily at our school and this book will also be present during our Remembrance Day Service and Liturgy of the Word on November 11 2019.
Parent Teacher Interviews
We will be holding Parent-Teacher Interviews at the school on Thursday, November 21st from 3:40 – 5:00 p.m. and from 6:00 – 8:50 p.m. and Friday, November 22nd from 9:00 a.m. – 3:10 p.m. This year, you will be able to schedule your Parent-Teacher Interviews online. More information to follow this week in a separate email.
St. Paul’s offers a “Coffee Sunday” once per month that is led by a parish group. Our Catholic School Council have partnered with the CWL to cohost the upcoming coffee Sunday after the 9am and 11am masses on November 10th. This collaborative effort is meant to support and increase the relationship between home-school-parish. Please mark your calendars with this date and we look forward to seeing you all there!

Just an update to our community regarding the use of Beyblades. We have had a significant amount of injuries in the office due to play with Beyblades and the metal edges on this toy. If your child plays with Beyblades at school, please remind them about proper play and safety so that we can continue to enjoy this toy at school.
