P.A. Day – Friday, April 12th, 2019

Please be advised that there will be no classes for HCDSB students on April 12, 2019. 

The Education Act provided by the Ministry of Education requires each school Board to establish a School Year Calendar, identifying instructional days, professional activity (P.A.) days and holidays for each school year.

Regulation 304, “School Year Calendar, Professional Activity Days”, made under the Education Act, requires school boards to prepare an agenda that lists the scheduled activities and details taking place for each P.A. day throughout the school year.

Attacking Math Strategies for Working with Fractions
Agenda:
8:30 – 9:00 a.m – Breakfast snack/Coffee (provided by office)
9:00-9:15 Prayer and mini Liturgy ( Catholic Education Week & Walk with Jesus )
9:15 -11:45 – Math Presentation: Working with Fractions
11:45-12:45 – Lunch (staff to bring their own lunch)
12:30 p.m – Afternoon Session begins:
Occupational Health & Safety Training and slideshow
All OECTA teachers must participate in a half day Occupational Health and Safety training as per terms of settlement. All other school staff including Educational Assistants, Early Childhood Educators, Custodians and Office staff will also be afforded the opportunity to participate where feasible.
PART A: Safe Schools Information Reporting – new Online Form
This will take approximately 20 – 30 minutes to complete.
PART B: Safe Schools Online Training System Modules:
– Classroom Safety – 15 min.
– Slips, Trips, Falls – 28 min.
– Scent Awareness – 15 min.
*Staff will need their employee ID, an internet connection and headphones or a computer with sound/speakers to complete this training
