RAPID ANTIGEN TEST KITS FOR IN-PERSON LEARNERS

During the week of Monday, December 13th to Friday, December 17th your child will be taking home a Rapid Antigen Screening Kit for voluntary use over the Christmas holiday.

The rapid antigen screening kits have been provided by the Government of Ontario for every student who attends in-person learning at a publicly funded school.  These kits may be used by any student, regardless of their vaccination status, however, should only be used when a child is asymptomatic (does not have any symptoms of COVID-19) and has not had any exposure to a confirmed case of COVID-19.

Please note, your child’s participation in this rapid antigen screening is voluntary and is not a required action for return to school after the Christmas break.

Thank you for your ongoing support as we work closely with the Ministry of Education and Halton Public Health to help keep our community safe and healthy for all.

St. Scholastica students will receive their kit on Tuesday, December 14th.

PARENT MASKING AT PICKUP & DROP OFF

A reminder that any parents who walk their child to or from school must remain behind the fences at these times. Please arrange for a meeting place with your child.

Any parents waiting along the fence area should be masked as it is difficult to remain distanced at this busy time.

PRIMARY VIRTUAL CHRISTMAS CONCERT

A reminder that our Grade 1, 2, and 3 classes have been practicing hard to be filmed singing their class Christmas song! Each primary class has been learning a Christmas song that will be FILMED in the gym on WEDNESDAY, DECEMBER 15th. All primary students are permitted to wear Christmas colours/a Christmas outfit on that day. The students will be distanced 2 meters apart for the performance so that they can sing with their masks off!

Click here for a preview of our Primary Performance!

The class recording will be posted on the classroom D2L page the following day (Thursday, December 16th) for all families to enjoy!

A huge thank you to our teachers of the arts, Ms. Hage and Mrs. Dormer, for their hard work and organization!! We hope you enjoy the class Christmas performances!

Kindergarten classes are also preparing a Christmas song to share with parents. If your child is in Kindergarten, their teacher & DECE team will connect with you around the details about how to access the recorded Christmas song for their class!

Please note that our Grade 4-8 classes (including Ms. Di Censo’s Grand 3/4 class) will prepare a performance in the Spring.

ANGEL TREE

The Christmas season is upon us, and this year St. Scholastica will be sponsoring “The Angel Tree.” It is an excellent opportunity for families to show kindness and generosity to those in our community during this special season of Advent. This year we will be supporting Halton Children’s Aid Society to help families in our community. Together with YOU and our community partners we can assist children, youth, and families in need. During the holidays, our goal is to brighten the holiday season by providing necessities and gifts to those who have been referred to this program.

This year, Halton Children’s Aid Society is asking for different forms of donations such as gift cards, items for Comfort Kits, and items for Life Start Kits.

Click here for details. Please return all donations by Monday, December 13th. Thank you for your continued support.
