Dear Parents and Guardians,

DRESS FOR THE WEATHER

Just a reminder that this time of year brings fluctuations in temperature.  We have enjoyed some very nice weather over the last week and we would like to remind parents/guardians to ensure your children are dressed for the cooler temperatures ahead.

BULLYING PREVENTION AND AWARENESS WEEK

This week is Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week. During this week, Ontario students, school staff, and parents are encouraged to learn more about bullying and its effect on student learning and well-being.

Here at St. Scholastica, we have developed informative announcements, students will have Halton Women’s Place virtual class presentations, and participate in daily class challenges around kindness and empathy.

By participating in Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week, schools will be affecting positive change in student learning, achievement, and well-being by promoting a safer learning environment, which is essential to student success.

THE #NoHateInHalton CAMPAIGN

The #NoHateInHalton launched on Monday, November 8th in schools across the Halton Region. This is a community campaign that was developed by our Halton Regional Police Services in collaboration with the four school districts in Halton.

As a school, we will be promoting this campaign through various activities in the classroom, and on social media. We are fortunate to live in such a vibrant and diverse community and are committed to nurturing a safe, welcoming and inclusive school where all students, families and staff know they are valued, respected, accepted and safe. Let’s work together to ensure that there is #NoHateInHalton!
