WORLD CEREBRAL PALSY DAY (DATE CHANGE)

World CP Day on Wednesday, October 6th, 2021.As this day is our school photo day and students must be in full uniform, St. Scholastica is celebrating World CP Day on Tuesday, October 5th! Students are asked to wear a GREEN shirt on Tuesday in support and recognition of those living with cerebral palsy, to embrace diversity and to help create a more accessible future for everyone.  Uniform bottoms are required on this day and only those students who wear a green top may be out of uniform (top half of their body).

As cerebral palsy affects more than 17 million people worldwide, there are millions of reasons to show your support on October 5th. Cerebral Palsy is the most common physical disability in childhood. It is a permanent disability that affects movement and its impact can range from a weakness in one hand, to almost a complete lack of voluntary movement. CP is a lifelong disability and there is no known cure.

World Cerebral Palsy Day is a movement of people with Cerebral Palsy and their families, and the organisations that support them, in more than 75 countries. The vision is to ensure that children and adults with Cerebral Palsy (CP) have the same rights, access and opportunities as anyone else in our society. It is only together, that we can make that happen. For more information, please visit https://worldcpday.org.
