Congratulations Grade 8s
A special congratulations go out to St. Scholastica’s 3rd graduating class! Yesterday, all our Graduates participated in a graduation drive-thru where they paused for a picture with Mrs. Sweeney-Hurd and Mrs. Catalano as well as picked up their graduation gifts. Thank you to all staff who made graduation day possible-Mrs. Hyland, Mrs. Catalano, Mrs. Bisogni, Mr. Caruso, Mr. Fabiani, Mr. Sinclair, and Ms. MacDonald, and Mrs. Hage. We want to wish all our graduates the very best in all their future endeavors! May God continue to bless them and their journey!
Every Child Matters
We have all been saddened to hear about the recent discoveries throughout our country of unmarked burial sites at former residential schools. Please see attached handout for resources to help educate yourself and to help talk to your children about the devastating tragedies that happened at Canada’s residential schools. Having these conversations and acknowledging what has happened is a stepping stone on the path to Truth and Reconciliation.
Drop Off of Items
If your child borrowed a school device or has a textbook or other school-owned resource, to assist them with access to remote learning, these materials are due back for return no later than 4:00pm on Wednesday, June 30th. Please return the device and its matching power cord to the school by bringing it to the main door and buzzing the door buzzer. Someone will be out to obtain this device from you. Please ensure that the device is clean and labelled with your name and grade. Once again, ALL DEVICES MUST BE RETURNED NO LATER THAN 4:00 PM ON WEDNESDAY, JUNE 30TH. IF your family was provided with an internet hub or LTE stick, these too must be returned (cleaned and labelled) by this day and time. The internet hubs will be shut down and will not be active and available for use after this date and time, but the hardware must be returned.
Please note, to replace any school devices and/or other related school materials (textbooks), is the sole responsibility of the school. Given there has been no fundraising for over a year, our budget is quite depleted so please ensure you return any devices and/or school-owned materials.
This is a reminder to let you know that June 28th and June 29th will be asynchronous learning for every school in the HCDSB. No attendance will be taken, and your child’s teacher will not be online to supervise.
