Dear St. Scholastica Families,
Wishing all of you a lovely weekend ahead. Here are the updates for this upcoming week at St. Scholastica:
CATHOLIC SCHOOL COUNCIL PRIMARY MOVIE NIGHT – CHANGE OF DATE
Our rescheduled Primary Family Movie Night is fast approaching. The date of our movie night is on Thursday, March 12th, 2020. The movie is set to begin at 6:15pm (Doors open at 6:00pm).
If you previously purchased tickets to attend this night on March 5th and are not able to make it to the new Movie Night date of March 12th, please contact Mrs. Ceko at the office to discuss a refund for your purchase.
If you did not purchase tickets and would like to come, there will be an option to “pay at the door” for entrance to our event. There will be SOME popcorn and water left for purchase but these “left overs” are in small amounts and will be sold on a “first come, first served” basis. Tickets are $10 per Family, Popcorn (while supplies last for purchase at the door) is $2/bag and bottles of water (while supplies last for purchase at the door) is $1/bottle.
We thank our Catholic School Council for organizing and hosting this evening for our school community.
This is a reminder to all of our families that March Break is approaching. There will be no school for students during the week of March 16th-20th , 2020. We wish all of the families that are travelling on the break a safe journey.
GRADE 4-8 PUBLIC SPEAKING COMPETITION
We thank our grade level representatives who worked so hard to deliver their speech in front of all of the Grade 3-8 students, staff and our visitors at our Public Speaking Finals which took place this past Wednesday, March 4th at 1:30pm in our school gym. A big congratulations goes out to Marissa A., whose speech on “Bullying” is going to be moving onto the Regional Public Speaking competition held at Queen of Heaven School in April. A photo of our representatives has been “Tweeted” out on our school’s “Twitter.” Congratulations again to Marissa!
SEE THE PROBLEM, BE THE SOLUTION CONTEST
Our Grade 8 students participated in a poster contest called “See the Problem, Be the Solution” which focussed on Anti-Bullying, Inclusion and Diversity. We congratulate Rukky O. whose poster was submitted as our school’s winning representation. Many of the posters, including Rukky’s are displayed on a bulletin board in the front hall of the school. A photo has also been “Tweeted” out on our school’s “Twitter.” Congratulations again to Rukky!
NEW PIZZA AND MILK ORDERS
Information on our new pizza and milk orders for the final term of our school’s pizza and milk program have gone home this week and these items are available for purchase on School Cash Online until March 24th. No late orders will be accepted.
