Updates on Coronavirus from Halton Region Health

HaltonRegion-CoronavirusUpdate-Feb11

As a follow up to the email you received on January 27th regarding the virus known as the 2019 Novel Coronavirus or 2019-nCoV, I am writing to share an update from the Halton Region Health Department.

A letter from the Chief Medical Officer for the Halton Region Health Department with recommendations for recent travellers, and information around the symptoms and prevention of respiratory viruses such as 2019-nCoV is attached above.

It is important to note that there are no reported cases of the Novel Coronavirus in Halton Region. At this time, the risk of Novel Coronavirus infection for Ontario, including the Halton Region, continues to remain low.

The HCDSB continues to be in ongoing communication with the Halton Region Health Department, who are working closely with the Ministry of Health, Public Health Ontario and local health care providers to monitor this situation and take actions, as appropriate.
