St. Paul Weekly Update: June 28-29

Congratulations once again to all our Grade 8 Graduates as they journey into the next academic/social stage of their lives – High School! Wishing you all the best at Assumption High School in September. God Bless.

Thank you to all parents/guardian for all of your support as we conclude another fabulous year together. Thank you to our AWESOME staff for all their hard work throughout the year while in-person and remote learning. Finally, thank you to all our students – you worked so hard during this school year. We are soooooooo proud of you!

Please join us as we close out our year on Tuesday, June 29th at 8:40am with an end of year liturgy and slideshow presentation. Please use our daily announcement link.

Please see below for some important messages as we head into our last two days of asynchronous learning for this school year.


If you were assigned a device during this last remote learning session or if you have a device as a virtual learning this year the device can be returned to school at the following times:

  1. Monday, June 28 – During the pick-up/drop off time assigned to your child. See schedule attached:
  2. Tuesday, June 29 – 8:00am-12:00pm – LAST DAY

We ask that the device, charger (and box in some cases) you received be returned to the office. 

Drop off and pick-up of Personal Belongings:
• Drop-off tech/library books/textbook – Please drive around to the outside of the gym doors – door #5 (Kiss N’ Ride lane) and drop off items first.
• Proceed to the front of the school at your designated block of time to pick up personal belonging. Any unlabeled student items will be in a lost and found area. If not picked up, they will be donated/discarded.
• Please come in a mask and maintain social distancing and follow all safety protocols.
• A link for the COVID-19 screening is shared below. Please complete prior to coming to the school for the pick-up of belongings.

Staff Farewells:

As the school year comes to a close, we would like to thank once again the staff who will be leaving us on Tuesday. We thank them for their dedication to our school and community. We wish God’s Blessings to: Mr. D’Souza (Library Technician), Ms. Silva (CYC), Ms. Morrallee (virtual grade 2), Mrs. Crawford (virtual Kindergarten), Mrs. Kubiak (virtual DECE), Mr. VanSickle (virtual PTM) and Mr. Belluz (SERT). Good luck at your new school!

School Office Open On Monday, August 30:

  • The school office will be open the week of Monday, August 30 – Friday, September 3rd at 8:00 a.m. Office staff and administration will be available all week.

BACK TO SCHOOL – Tuesday, September 7th (Grades 1 – 8 Only):

Please put your child’s report card in a safe place over the summer as the OEN (Ontario Education Number) is needed to access class placements for the next school year.  As of Friday, September 3rd, you will be able to log onto the board’s website and access your child’s class placement by using this OEN. Remember, class placements are subject to change based on enrollment numbers. Please be mindful that many hours of care have been put into creating balanced classes to best meet the needs of our students and we ask that you trust our staff.

  4. Click on “Elementary Class Placement”
  5. Scroll down to St. Paul School
  6. Enter OEN, click search
  7. Your child’s name, school year and placement will be displayed

Kindergarten Registrations:

  • All new students from JK – Grade 8 can continue to be registered online through  Office staff will contact parents who register online to set up a time to complete part 2 of registration, upon their return the week of August 30th.

Kindergarten Entry in September 2021:

  • Welcome to all our new Kindergarten children to St. Paul school. We are looking forward to meeting you! Emails will be sent home in the next couple of day with your interview dates and times.

  • Staggered entry for second half of JK students (first half do not attend). All SK students continue to attend.

  • Full entry for all JK students

Courtesy Bus Seats on Hold for 2021-2022:

  • Halton Student Transportation Services will not be offering courtesy seats for the 2021-2022 school year. If public health determines that this option can be made available safely, we will update you on the application and acceptance process.

Burlington Public Library Summer Reading Club:
Hello from Burlington Public Library! As summer arrives, the Burlington Public Library is
happy to announce that we are once again offering our free annual Summer Reading
Club (SRC) this June, July, and August. Of course, there will be a few changes to
accommodate the current pandemic environment.
SRC 2021 will look like…
• 10 Weeks: Mon June 28 to Sun September 5
• Registration starts June 28, 2021
• All ages: This year, we’re including everyone, from birth to adults.
• Online: We’re keeping it simple—all reading club activities are on our website.
• Flexible: Set your own goals and we’ll help you stay motivated.
• Weekly lists: Do one, do them all, do something else. You’ll find weekly lists of
books, resources, and activity suggestions for every age group.
• Virtual Programs: Participate in our virtual programs for all ages.
