Please accept our apologies for the delay in communicating the teacher assignments for this year. We held off until we could provide concrete information regarding staffing for your child’s classroom. Your Child’s new teacher will reach out to all of you within the week to introduce themselves to you and answer any questions you may have.
In addition, we would like to sincerely thank the Teachers that courageously supported our classes last week as well as our families for their flexibility and understanding with the delay of staff placements. There are still a few more additions that we are waiting on, so we kindly ask families to please be patient.
A few additional notes for tomorrow morning:
- We will continue with our free entry model. All bus students will enter the school via DOOR #1 which is the main entrance to the building. Students walking, cycling or being dropped off will enter through DOOR #10. KINDERGARTEN STUDENTS will enter the natural playground through the 2 gates located close to the blacktop. We kindly ask parents to use the designated KISS & RIDE area to safely drop off their child(ren). Cars are not to be parked in this area nor are students to be released before vehicles are in the designated Kiss & Ride area. We ask families to use the available parking spots to safely walk their child(ren) to their designated point of entry.
- Thank you to our families for their patience and understanding with bus transportation. Students should have their bus tags attached to their backpacks for insurance of safety and bus route designation. We are still in the process of confirming bus transportation assignments for students that registered through the summer but are hopeful this will all be finalized this week. We strongly encourage families to complete the Opt. Out form located in the transportation section on the board website. This will greatly assist us in creating designated seating for our students.
- As you are already aware, the Ministry of Education has directed all schools to implement daily confirmation of COVID self-screening for all elementary students attending school in person. This will be the last week, unless otherwise directed by the Ministry of Education. Parents and guardians are asked to complete the COVID-19 School Screening Tool for each child every day before leaving home for school: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening/. Confirmation of the daily screening must be provided to the classroom teacher. Please use the following chart to communicate your child’s results:
Thank you once again for your understanding and patience as we navigate through this new reality and unprecedented times.
Enjoy the rest of the day and we look forward to welcoming our students back tomorrow!
Mr. Agro and Mrs. Spotswood
