Weekly Update June 28-29

Dear Parents/Guardians,

As the end of the school year approaches, listed are a few important informational items and upcoming dates.

Drop Off/Pick Up of Items: June 28/29

A protocol has been established for Monday June 28th and Tuesday June 29th for families who need to pick up personal belongings and return borrowed school items. All textbooks, library books and borrowed technology must be returned at this time.

Families will register online using the following link https://snces-kr.parentinterview.com   The Access Code is nick2021 – please note when registering – sign up for one time slot only, we will organize all student belongings for all siblings attending St. Nicholas for that assigned time slot.  Families will use the main driveway in front of the school for the return/pick up.

As communicated, all tech devices will need to be returned by the end of June unless students are enrolled in a summer learning program. If your child requires the device for their summer learning, please email Mrs. Spotswood. SpotswoodC@hcdsb.org

NOTE: Educators will provide asynchronous tasks for students on June 28th and June 29th.

We ask that you adhere to Public Health guidelines of wearing a mask and by waiting if another family is at the door picking up/dropping off their belongings. Thank you for your co-operation!

Report Cards

This year, in light of the school closures due to COVID-19, student report cards have been delivered electronically. The report cards were delivered directly to parents and guardians by email on Wednesday, June 23, 2021

Parents and guardians will need their child’s Ontario Education Number (OEN) in order to access the report card. Your child’s OEN number can be found on a previous report card.   The Ministry has waived the expectation for both a teacher and parental signature for this reporting period.  The School Principal’s electronic signature will appear on all student report cards.

As with all reporting periods, parents and guardians may contact their child’s teacher to arrange a time to discuss the report card.

You are also welcome to contact our school administration cacciolaa@hcdsb.org or spotswoodc@hcdsb.org with any questions or should you require further clarification.

Class Placement September 2021

Please be advised that you will be able to access information about your child’s class placement on Friday, September 3, 2021, after 9:00 a.m.  This information will be available on the Board’s website at: www.hcdsb.org. On the Home page, please click on the “Schools” tab and then on the “School Listing” tab in the drop-down menu.  You will be directed to the school listing page. Once you have arrived on this page, please click on “Class Placements”, beside the appropriate Elementary school name.

PLEASE NOTE: In order to access this information, you will require your child’s Ontario Education Number (OEN), which can be found on his/her report card.

If you have any questions regarding your child’s class placement, please contact the school office.

Courtesy Seats on School Buses for the 2020-2021 School Year

Each year, in accordance with HSTS Procedure HS-1-004 – Courtesy Seats, families with children who are not otherwise eligible for school bus transportation to and from school are allowed to apply for courtesy seats on school buses.

We are writing to advise that Halton Student Transportation Services (HSTS) will not be able to accommodate courtesy seats as we move into the 2021-2022 school year. However, as information becomes available from public health, this decision may be reconsidered, and we will communicate any changes.

As a result, the courtesy seat application process is on HOLD for the 2021-2022 school year. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. For more information about student transportation services in Halton, visit the HSTS website at: www.haltonbus.ca/

God of wisdom,

We thank You for all the gifts You have given us throughout this school year.

We praise You for giving us life, for saving us in Christ and for choosing us to be Your people.

As we come to the end of this school year, we voice our gratitude for the good things

You have done in us, and we praise You for all who have shared in the work of this school.

We ask You to bless them in Your love and give them refreshment and peace.

We praise You, God, through Jesus Christ, our Lord, who lives and reigns forever and ever.

Amen.
