Weekly Update March 29-April 2

Good afternoon,

Holy Week/Stations of the Cross

This Sunday is Palm Sunday and marks the beginning of Holy Week. On Palm Sunday we celebrate Jesus’ triumphant entrance into Jerusalem. On Thursday April 1, our Grade 8 students’ presentation of the Stations of the Cross will be shared virtually with our school and community.  An emailed YouTube link will be shared next week.  Families are reminded that the school is closed on Good Friday April 2 and on Easter Monday April 5th.

Earth Hour

Families are reminded that tomorrow Saturday, March 27th is Earth Hour and that we collectively work together to reduce our own personal energy consumption. We wish all our St. Nicholas families a wonderful Earth Hour tomorrow evening!

Sleeping Children Around the World – St. Nicholas Lenten Initiative

Our Lenten initiative Sleeping Children Around the World continues until Easter. Thank you to all the students and families who have purchased Bed Kits this Lenten season. St. Nicholas has purchased 105 Bed Kits to date! We have surpassed our school goal of 100 bed kits with one more week to go! Congratulations St. Nicholas!

September 2021

Please let us know if you are moving or will not be returning in September 2021. We are beginning preliminary planning for next year’s class sizes and the information is helpful with the planning process.

Class Placements 2021-2022 – Preparations will begin soon to ensure that our school is organized for the 2021-2022 school year. When building a class, many factors are considered in the decisions to develop heterogeneous groupings such as: balanced abilities, gender, learning styles and social blending. Parental input is very important in this process, however, requests for specific teachers cannot be considered. If you have any information regarding your child’s placement, please submit it in writing by May 7, 2021 to Mr. Cacciola. Your trust in our professional judgement is appreciated.
