Weekly Update December 13th

It’s been a busy week at St. Nicholas school.  Listed below are a few important acknowledgments and reminders as we end the week.

Thank you to our kindergarten team for organizing the Kindergarten Advent celebration! The hot chocolate and cookies definitely added to a sweet afternoon! Thank you to our Gr. 1-8 staff and students for their Christmas presentation of “No Room at the Inn”. We appreciate all the families and friends that were able to join us over the last few days.

Thank you to our grade 4’s and our St. Nicholas school choir for leading our school Advent Mass. We continue to be reminded of the true meaning of Christmas this Advent season!

A big thank you to our St. Nicholas families for their generous donations and support of our Angel Tree initiative.  We are truly blessed and overwhelmed by the outpouring of support this Advent season!

Thursday, December 19 is Joy Day at St. Nicholas School, students will make Christmas crafts and participate in various Christmas activities in their classrooms. It is a non-uniform day, students are encouraged to wear Red/White/Green.

Friday December 20th is Pajama Day it is a non-uniform day.

Friday, December 20th is also an early release day. Students will be dismissed at 1:50 pm.

Fast Food Lunches: As communicated at the start of the school year, fast foods that are not guaranteed to be nut-free. McDonald’s, A&W and Tim Hortons cannot be eaten in the classroom due to students with allergies.  It is a concern due to a large number of fast-food lunches that are coming into the school.  Please do not send fast-food lunches to school.  We do not have the space available for the number of students nor do we have the ability to supervise effectively. Thank you for your cooperation.

Lunch Supervisor – We are looking for Lunch Supervisors for our kindergarten area. It is a paid position. If you are interested and are available Monday to Friday – 11:50-12:50 and have a current Vulnerable Sectors Criminal Reference Check, please contact our main office.

We’re Moving to Our New School! Parents have received an email from the Board this week, confirming that our new school building will be ready for occupancy when we return from the Christmas break.  It is great news for our students, families, and staff and we’re all looking forward to starting the New Year in our brand new school!
