Weekly Update June 14

Good afternoon,

Play Day 2019– Our school Play Day for Kindergarten to Grade 8 will take place on Tuesday, June 18th. This is a non-uniform day. Students should dress for the weather and wear sunhats, sunscreen and running shoes. Please do not forget a water bottle! We thank Mrs. Iannace and Mrs. DaSilva for organizing the Play Day. A special thank you to our grade 7 & 8 students for designing and leading the various stations and for being our team leaders, your leadership makes Play Day a huge success!

All students will be provided a pizza lunch – 1 slice, including a juice box, bag of chips and a Freezie. Additional pizza will be made available for purchase – $1.00 per slice. Please feel free to send your child to school with an extra snack or lunch. We thank our parent volunteers for organizing the special lunch for Play Day.

Grade 8 Graduation – Grade 8 families are reminded that our graduation Mass will take place on Thursday, June 20th at 10:30 am at St. James Parish followed the student Grad luncheon. Our graduation ceremony and dance will take place at St. Thomas Aquinas at 6:30 pm.

Year End Mass – Families are invited to join us for our Year End Mass celebration scheduled for Friday, June 21st at 9:15 at St. James Parish. Thank you to both Fr. Louis and Fr. Ranjan for their continued support!

Medical Conditions 2019-2020 – For families who have students with medical conditions the documentation packages for the 2019-2020 school year will be sent home on June 24th to be updated over the summer and then returned the last week of August (Aug 26-30).

Please remember that ALL medication, including epi-pens and inhalers, housed at the school for your child MUST BE picked up by June 28th.  Any unclaimed epi-pens and inhalers will be sent home in your child’s backpack on June 28th.  Any non-prescription medications (e.g., Advil) will be disposed of as per our typical practice.

Report Cards – Term II Report Cards will be sent home on Tuesday, June 25th.  Please review your child’s report card, fill out the parent comment section and return to the classroom teacher on Wednesday, June 27th

Please let us know if you are moving or won’t be returning in September 2019. We are planning for next year’s class sizes and the information is very helpful for the planning process.
