Weekly Update November 23-27, 2020

Hello St. Michael Families

I hope everyone is well and safe.

The Weekly Update will be outlined below and can also be viewed on our St. Michael’s website. Additional information can also be found on Halton Catholic District School Board website. 


  • Book Fair: We will be hosting a VIRTUAL SCHOLASTIC BOOK FAIR this year! Beginning November 30 – December 11, 2020. All information will be coming this out this week. Super easy – parents will receive a link – browse books – order online – all items will be sent directly to your home in time for Christmas. All proceeds made will go towards the purchasing of new items for our new library!
  • Safe & Healthy School: Staff continue to enforce mask wearing (over the nose), washing hands, and physical distancing. Please support us and remind your child(ren) of this great importance in our daily routines.
  • Parking Lot: Thank you for all those who have helped with ensuring the traffic flow and new plan run safely and smoothly. 
  • November is Indigenous Awareness Month at the Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB). Throughout the month of November and during this school year, students and staff will acknowledge the contributions and legacy of First Nation, Métis and Inuit peoples in Canada.
  • Hindu Heritage Month is an opportunity to remember, celebrate and educate future generations about Hindu-Canadians and the important role that they have and continue to play in communities across Canada.  
  • Cyber Awareness Month. The four-week K-12 campaign, led by The Educational Computing Network of Ontario (ECNO)​ raises awareness of the new educational realities of teaching, learning and connecting that students, parents and staff have experienced this past year.

Monday November 23, 2020 – Please review the new plan attached. Parents must park and either walk student to entrance or students’ walk safely to entrance.

  • Daily Screening – staff & parents of students’ are asked to complete daily
  • Parent Teacher Virtual Interviews: parents should have received Confirmation of times by today
  • Christian Meditation 1:30 p.m.

Tuesday November 24, 2020

  • Daily Screening – staff & parents of students are asked to complete daily
  • Report Cards: they will be sent electronically to parents, to decrease contact, in align with our Safe Return to School Protocol

Wednesday November 25, 2020

  • Daily Screening – staff & parents of students are asked to complete daily
  • Catholic Council of Chairs Virtual Meeting ~ Council Chair & Mrs. Rieberry will be attending
  • Christian Meditation 1:30 p.m.

Thursday November 26, 2020

  • Daily Screening – staff & parents of students are asked to complete daily
  • Casual Day – students are invited to wear casual clothing (last instructional day of the month)
  • Week Three – Popcorn delivery of ordered popcorn to the students before lunch 
  • Virtual Parent – Teacher Interview Night 

Friday November 27, 2020

  • P.A. Day – school is closed
  • Virtual Parent – Teacher Interview Day
  • Construction: paving will take place at the front of the school, playground area & new build area
  • Daily Screening – staff & parents of students’ are asked to complete daily
  • Christian Meditation 1:30 p.m.
