Weekly Update Nov 16-20 2020

Announcements:

  • Bully Awareness Week: The Legislative Assembly of Ontario passed a resolution to recognize the week beginning on the third Sunday of November as Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week. The purpose of the week is to promote safe schools, increase awareness of what constitutes bullying and address the impact it can have on the overall school environment. Ontario students, school staff, and parents are encouraged to learn more about bullying and its effect on student learning and well-being. Our schools will be focusing on positive change, the overall well-being of the entire school community, and promoting a safer learning environment for all.
  • Safe & Healthy School: Staff continue to enforce mask wearing (over the nose), washing hands, and physical distancing. Please support us and remind your child(ren) of this great importance in our daily routines.
  • Parking Lot: Parents are asked to park in a spot, remain physically distanced when picking up and dropping off, mask up & no gatherings
  • November is Indigenous Awareness Month at the Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB). Throughout the month of November and during this school year, students and staff will acknowledge the contributions and legacy of First Nation, Métis and Inuit peoples in Canada.
  • Hindu Heritage Month is an opportunity to remember, celebrate and educate future generations about Hindu-Canadians and the important role that they have and continue to play in communities across Canada.  
  • Cyber Awareness Month. The four-week K-12 campaign, led by The Educational Computing Network of Ontario (ECNO)​ raises awareness of the new educational realities of teaching, learning and connecting that students, parents and staff have experienced this past year.
  • Extended French Program – Grade 4 Parents – The online registration process for the 2021-2022 school year will take place from November 9-20, 2020. 

Parking Changes Coming Soon: Please watch your emails, I will be sending out an email with the PARKING CHANGES the day before, as construction plans are moving on a day to day basis. Parents are asked to prepare for a change in daily drop off and pick-up. Small changes for a short period of time ~ thank you in advance.

Monday November 16, 2020 

Drop Off and Pick-up remain the same. Parents must park and either walk student to entrance or students’ walk safely to entrance.

  • Week Two – Popcorn delivery for ordered popcorn to the students before lunch 
  • Confirmation sent home for Virtual Parent – Teacher Interview Times

Friday November 20, 2020

  • Daily Screening – staff & parents of students’ are asked to complete daily
  • FREEZE OUT BULLYING – students & staff are invited to wear BLUE to support Bully Awareness Week!! Wear blue tops and casual bottoms
  • Christian Meditation 1:30 p.m.
  • Confirmation sent home for Virtual Parent – Teacher Interview Times
