Walk with Jesus – Some of our Student Ambassadors and students will be attending the HCDSB Walk with Jesus event on Thursday, May 9th. Parents are invited to follow the Board’s twitter feed @HCDSB # HCWWJ and can live tweet beam the event at bit.ly/hcwwj.
ABA for All Bonanza:
St. Matthew will be hosting an Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) for All Bonanza on Thursday, May 23rd. This event has been planned by our school board’s ABA for All Working Group and is designed to bring awareness of what Educational ABA is and to demonstrate how the various disciplines within education come together to utilize ABA methodology. The goal is to highlight and celebrate all of the amazing work being done across the system by educators using ABA methodology for any and all students who benefit from it. Parents are welcome to attend the event, from 2:20-3:00 in the library, to learn more about how ABA is being utilized in our school and board. Family Games Night – This Wednesday, May 8th!
A reminder that we will have our family games night this Wednesday! The fun gets started at 6:30, if you wold like to hear from our board’s math consultant about the power of playing games to enhance numeracy. At 7:00, we will begin our family fun time. If you have not had an opportunity to do so, please see the flyer below and RSVP link. We hope to see you there!
Grandparents Day is coming! This is a gentle reminder that the forms, which were sent home with students (youngest/only) are due on Monday, May 6th. Please have your forms filled out and handed in to the office/teachers tomorrow. Our event will take place on Monday, May 13th. Celebrating our Students:
Grade 8 student, Alina Prijono was recognized this past week for her role in a CBC television show, Joy in Detention Adventure. Please click here to read the article. The show is not only fun and educational, but also touches on subjects that tweens face in school and in their lives. Its a good laugh for parents too. All 10, 11 minute episodes of the show are now streaming on gem.cbc.ca. Congratulations Alina!
Uniform Swap – For September 2019:
We will have a uniform swap just before we return for the 2019-2020 school year. The week of June 24th will be a non-uniform week and clothing items can be dropped off at that time. Please click here to read more about the program and important dates/times!
