New COVID-19 Case in the St. Mary Catholic School Community

SUBJECT: A New COVID-19 Case & Pending Public Health Investigation in our St. Mary Catholic School Community

November 18, 2020

Dear Parents and Guardians,

We are writing to let you know that we received confirmation this evening from Halton Region Public Health about a new positive case of COVID-19 in our school community.

Public Health have identified a cohort of students and staff who are potential close contacts and may be at risk of exposure. These individuals were contacted tonight and directed to stay home and self-isolate tomorrow, pending the investigation and assessment by Public Health.

Attached is a letter from Halton Public Health with additional information.

At this time, we have no further details, but we will provide an update as soon as Public Health have completed their investigation.

As always, please continue to monitor for symptoms of COVID-19 in your child(ren) and keep them home from school when they do not feel well. It is very important that you conduct a daily self-assessment before sending your son or daughter to school each day: https://covid-19.ontario.ca/school-screening/.

The health and well-being of our students, families and staff are always our first priority, and we will continue working very closely with Halton Public Health to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 in our community.

Thank you for your ongoing support and understanding.
