Lost and Found Items

Our lost and found items will be on display in the front foyer, this week, for students and parents to go through and claim any personal items.  Any items left at the end of the week will be donated to charity.

Gr.8 Grad Pictures- March 9

Gr.8 Graduation Pictures will take place on Monday, March 9, 2020. Girls are asked to bring in a white collared blouse/top and boys a white collared shirt and tie to wear for the photos. Bring your smiles!

Lenten Family Mass- March10

All our families are invited to St. Matthew’s Church to celebrate our faith as a community during this Lenten season on Tuesday, March 10th@7pm.   Please see the Lenten brochure  from St. Matthew’s Church.

World Down Syndrome Day – March 13

On Friday, March 13th, 2020, St. Mary will celebrate World Down Syndrome Day to spread awareness and support people with Down Syndrome and the many ways that they make our world better. We will be asking all students and staff to help spread awareness of Down Syndrome by participating in the “Rock Your Socks” campaign. The idea of the campaign is to wear brightly coloured, mismatched socks in celebration. Students are invited to wear their uniform with mismatched multi-coloured socksWe will celebrate our similarities and differences! 

March Break- March 16-20

Next week (March 16-20) is March Break.  This means there is no school for all staff and students.  St. Mary staff wishes everyone a safe, restful and, wonderful March Break. Enjoy the time spent together as a family. We look forward to seeing everyone back on Monday, March 23rd.  Please note that the next weekly update will be emailed on Sunday, March 22nd.

March Break Basketball Camp- March 16-20

St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders are pleased to offer a Basketball Camp for boys and girls ages 6-13 during March Break.  Please see this flyer  for more details and registration information.

St. Mary Marlies Game & Family Skate- March 28

Mark your calendars for Saturday March 28th …

St. Mary’s parent council is partnering with Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment (MLSE) to bring our community an opportunity to attend the Marlies vs Rockets AHL (American Hockey League) home game. The puck drops at 4pm EST at Coca Cola Coliseum Arena in Toronto.  

Purchase your tickets by March 13th on schoolcashonline.ca for $30 (regular $37) and take advantage of the pre-skate event included with each ticket purchased, from 1:30 pm – 2:20 pm exclusive to the schools attending. A block of seats has been reserved exclusively for St. Mary’s students, families, friends and staff.

$8 food vouchers can also be purchased through schoolcashonline.ca, which can be redeemed for a slice of pizza & pop or hot dog & pop option at the Coca Cola Coliseum venue. Vouchers provide a cost savings, items are discounted.

All details are available in the flyer attached. If you are interested in attending the pre-skate  event, please print and complete the adult  and minor  skate waivers attached and bring with you on March 28th.  The waivers will need to be provided to any MLSE representative upon arrival. Instructions and map with direction are also attached. 

Tickets and vouchers that have been purchased will be available prior the event. More details to follow.

Good Health Habits Can Help Stop Germs

‘Tis the season for illnesses and viruses! Parents are encouraged to remind their students to wash hands and practise good hygiene to help stop the spread of germs.
