Family Day Holiday- Feb. 17

A reminder that tomorrow, Monday, February 17th, is Family Day. There is no school for students. We wish you all a wonderful day spending time with your family.

Term 1 Reports- Feb. 19

Our Term 1 Report Cards will be coming home this Wednesday, February 19th. Please make sure to sign and return the parents/student comment response. This is a timely opportunity to help your child set reasonable, attainable goals for Term 2 achievement.

Labour Negotiations Update

Our school will be CLOSED to students on Friday, February 21, 2020 as a result of the recent announcement by OECTA of a province-wide, one-day full withdrawal of services.  Please note that there may be picket lines present at our school location, which may impact traffic flow and cause potential minor delays in our school parking lot. Thank you for your patience and understanding during this time.

Gr.8 Grad Pictures

Gr.8 Graduation Pictures will not place this this Friday, February 21, 2020. The new date will be communicated as soon as we have a date scheduled.

Pancake Tuesday- Feb. 25

Thank you to all the individuals who have volunteered to help out with Pancake Tuesday.  We have limited spots still available. If you would like to volunteer and have your Vulnerable Sector Police check on file at the school, please send an email to stmaryCESvolunteers@gmail.com indicating your interest.

We are still in need of griddles, spatulas, large bowls, serving trays and 1/3 measuring cups to host this wonderful tradition.  If you are able volunteer any of these items for the day, please send an email to stmaryCESvolunteers@gmail.com  and let us know.

March Break Basketball Camp- Mar.16-20

St. Thomas Aquinas Raiders are pleased to offer a Basketball for boys and girls ages 6-13 during March Break.  Please see this flyer for more details and registration information.

Here are some great ideas to do together as a family.

  • Have a reading marathon.
  • Write stories together.
  • Play soccer or other sports.
  • Paint or draw together.
  • Create a fort in your living room out of blankets or cardboard boxes.
  • Go on a hike.
  • Have a sunset picnic at a park.
  • Play board games.
  • Play kickball.
  • Get up early, pack breakfast, and have a sunrise breakfast.
  • Go to a museum.
  • Go to a playground.
  • Play hide-and-seek.
  • Have a pillow fight.
  • Build structures.
  • Rent a movie and make popcorn.
  • Tell stories.
  • Have a scavenger hunt.
  • Make mazes or puzzles for each other to solve.
  • Play card games.
  • Garden together.
  • Bake cookies (let the kids help).
  • Go to the zoo.
  • Go to the library.
