“Peace on earth”

Luke 2:14

Advent – Week 4

When we look at the fourth candle, we remember God’s promise of peace. We recall the words of Jesus in John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.” As we approach Christmas, let’s remember that God’s intention is a place of peace.

We look forward to seeing everyone back on January 3rd, 2022 – God willing!

Daily Self-Screening- January 3- January 14

As we did for the first two weeks of the school year, when we return to school in the new year, confirmation of daily screening of COVID-19 will be required for all students, staff and visitors during the first two (2) weeks. This will be done through our students’ FDK Communication Bag / Gr. 1 – 5/6 Agendas / Gr. 6/7 – 8 Online. Daily Confirmation via parent signature / email to our teachers, will be needed for each child. If your child was absent and did not receive the COVID-19 Screening Confirmation Form, then a note will be accepted in lieu of form for the first day back.

Planning to travel outside of Canada this Christmas Break?

Families travelling outside of Canada over the Christmas break are reminded to monitor updates to federal travel directives and mandatory isolation periods for students. Please refer to the Government of Canada’s instructions for travellers from outside Canada for more information. Please remember that all students who are not vaccinated or are not fully vaccinated cannot attend school for 14 days after your return.

Rapid Antigen Test Kits for In-Person Learners

All students have taken home a Rapid Antigen Screening Kit for voluntary use over the Christmas holiday, this past week.

The rapid antigen screening kits have been provided by the Government of Ontario for every student who attends in-person learning at a publicly funded school. These kits may be used by any student, regardless of their vaccination status, however, should only be used when a child is asymptomatic (does not have any symptoms of COVID-19) and has not had any exposure to a confirmed case of COVID-19.

Please note, your child’s participation in this rapid antigen screening is voluntary and is not a required action for return to school after the Christmas break. Thank you for your ongoing support as we work closely with the Ministry of Education and Halton Public Health to keep our community safe and healthy for all.

WEEK 4 – Advent

Nightly Prayer: Peace

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen

Leader:  Come Holy Spirit! In this final week of Advent, we ask You to fill our hearts with peace as we prepare for Christ’s coming.

All: Come, Lord Jesus.

Family member lights all four advent candles.

Leader:  Lord, we ask to receive the peace of Your Holy Spirit throughout this week and especially right now as we pray together as a family. Help us to be peacemakers, sharing Your peace within our home and beyond.

All: Come, Lord Jesus.

Leader:  Help us make room in our hearts; help us clear out all that is not from You, so that the Holy Spirit might fill us with the fruits of eternal life and happiness. As we prepare for Jesus’ coming, let Your peace fill our hearts and minds; let Your peace inform our words, actions, and attitudes.

All: Fill our hearts with hope and peace! Amen.

In the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit. Amen

We wish all our families a most blessed Merry Christmas and a healthy start to the New Year – 2022
