Thank you for your Burlington Foodbank Donations!

Thank you to all our St. Mark Families who made a donation to the Burlington Food Bank to help those in our community who are experiencing food insecurities during this pandemic. We will let our school community know how much money was we raised, once the information is shared. THANK YOU St. Mark Catholic School Council!

We are very grateful to our Catholic School Council who has been working behind the scenes / virtually all year long to engage parents and our students socially, emotionally, academically and spiritually. We thank them for their partnership and engagement in everything we do at St. Mark! Even under unprecedented times and running our Council Meetings virtually, together we were able to install a beautiful outdoor classroom, new soccer posts, outdoor benches, new Chromebooks, Recovering Gym Mats with school logo (happening right now!) and organizing many fun family virtual activities through the year!! Our heartfelt thank you goes out to the following council members:

New GYM Flooring

Our GYM floor has been removed just this past week and a new layer is being installed. Thank you HCDSB for all your support!

Pride Awareness Day 

On Monday, June 14th St. Mark like all HCDSB schools, will be participating in our system-wide Pride Awareness Day – a day to reaffirm our commitment to honour the dignity and worth of each member of our community by nurturing safe, welcoming and inclusive schools where all students can feel a true sense of belonging. St. Mark students and staff are again encouraged to show their support by dressing brightly in rainbow colours or dress completely in one of the colours of the rainbow! Students / Families are asked to post photos on Twitter with #WeAllBelong Don’t forget to tag us @MarkLion14 

Student Pick-up & Drop-Off of Items

Parents received an email (June 10) with specific details and a time for picking up any items their child(ren) may have left at the school, including medication stored at the office. The scheduled date for pick-up is Thursday, June 17th. We sent most items home with students before the April Spring Break; any leftover items have been bagged for pick-up should you wish to collect them. Any items not collected will be donated or discarded.

Students who have Textbooks / Library Books and borrowed technology for remote learning will be asked to drop those items off at the school on Monday, June 28th between the hours of 9:10 AM – 3:40PM or on Tuesday, June 29th between the hours of 9:10 AM – 2:10 p.m.

June is National Indigenous History Month in Canada

This month, and every day, St. Mark School alongside Halton Catholic District School Board (HCDSB) continues to celebrate and honour the history, heritage and diversity of Indigenous peoples in our country, and in our HCDSB community. National Indigenous History Month is a time for learning about, appreciating and acknowledging the contributions First Nations, Inuit and Métis people have made in shaping Canada. It is also an opportunity to recognize the strength of present-day Indigenous communities. For more information please visit-

Save the Date June 21 – Year End Liturgy

As we reflect on this past school year, we will be coming together (with In-Class / Virtual families) to pray as a school community. On Monday, June 21st, please join us virtually on TEAMS for our Year End Liturgy starting at 1:30 p.m.

Elementary Term 2 Report Cards 

Term 2 Reports will be delivered directly by email to parents on Wednesday, June 23, 2021. Parents and guardians will need their child’s Ontario Education Number (OEN) in order to access the report card. The OEN number can be found on a previous report card.

The Ministry has waived the expectation for both a teacher and parental signature for this reporting period. The School Principal’s electronic signature will appear on all student report cards. As with all reporting periods, parents and guardians may contact the teacher to arrange a time to discuss the report card.

Graduation – Class of 2021

Our Graduation date is Wednesday, June 23rd, 2021. To our Grade 8 Graduating Class of 2021, we extend our best wishes in all your future endeavors and our gratitude for your many contributions to St. Mark Catholic School.  Remember to build upon all you have learned as you continue in your academic and faith journeys.  We are very proud of your accomplishments!! Congratulations!! Please keep our Graduates in your thoughts and prayers as we prepare to celebrate them on June 23!

Summer Literacy / Numeracy Programs for Grade 6, 7, 8

HCDSB Values your Feedback!

Please take a few minutes to complete the HCDSB Strategic Plan Monitoring Survey:

The survey will be open from June 9th until June 23 rd. Results will be used by senior staff to help evaluate our progress in meeting the goals of our Strategic Plan “Focus on Our Students: Strategic Plan 2016-2021” and will be included in the “Directors Report to Trustees – Year 5 of Implementation” in the fall.
