Weekly Update – May 24

You will never regret being kind.”

Message from St. Gabriel Church…..

Update on Sacraments of 1st Reconciliation, 1st Holy Communion and Confirmation

We have received communication from the Bishop’s office regarding Sacraments that were scheduled to take place in May & June 2021.

The celebration of all Sacraments will be rescheduled and will be celebrated in the Fall 2021.  All Sacraments (1st Reconciliation, 1st Holy Communion and Confirmation) will be celebrated prior to November 29, 2021. Dates will be communicated as soon as they are set.

The celebration of Confirmations for the 2021-2022 Pastoral Year will all be celebrated after January 1, 2022.

In order to celebrate the Sacraments with your class in the Fall, ALL paperwork must be received during this school year.  Anyone who has not submitted their documents (including homework) will receive their Sacraments in 2022 with the new classes.

We appreciate that this information is very disappointing, however we look forward to the day that we could safely celebrate our sacred sacraments, together as a faith community. If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to Nancy – at St. Gabriel Church.

God bless,

St. Gabriel Church

May is the Month of Mary

Let us continue to rediscover the beauty of praying the Rosary at home during May! At the end of each Rosary, we can recite a prayer asking for Mary’s intercession, that the Lord might free us from this pandemic and be thankful to all our frontline professionals.

Responsible Digital Citizenship

We would like to remind our students and families of the policies around the acceptable use of personal electronic devices.  Catholic School Codes of Conduct continue to be important in our Distance Learning Environment. As students continue to work in virtual classrooms, it is important to remind children about the norms and expectations for online communication. They may be used for texting or chatting with friends on social media, but how they interact in the online school setting will be different. Thank you for your continued partnership during this time.
