Aussie X  June 18th – 20th

We are thrilled to have Aussie X to our school on June 18th for three days of sports fun! Our students will be learning more about the Australian game of footie over three days of drills and activities.  Please make sure that the students come dressed for physical activity and bring a refillable water bottle.

Lost and Found

We will be putting the items from our lost and found on display in our forum at the end of this week. Please take the time to go through the items to see if they belong to you. Any items left over at the end of the week will be donated. Thank you for your assistance!

Missing Textbooks and Library Books

Parents, we ask that you continue to check closets, trunks, under beds, etc. for any school books that may be hiding and return them to us as soon as possible. The more we receive back, the fewer we have to replace. By working together to locate missing textbooks and library books, we are able to responsibly minimize costs to the school. If a book belonging to the school has been damaged or lost, please contact your child’s teacher and he/she will assist you in determining the replacement cost.  All books are due back June 21st, 2019 so that we can conduct an inventory and make purchases for the new school year.

Report Cards for Junior Kindergarten to Grade 8 students will be sent home on Tuesday, June 25th, 2019. Please sign and return the bottom portion to school by Thursday, June 27th. This form is a legal document which must be attached to the copy of the report and included in your child’s Ontario School Record file.  Please note this is an opportunity for you and your child to comment on goals, student achievement and home support. Thank you!

The last day of school for students will be on Friday, June 28th.  The Board has informed us that there will be an early dismissal, therefore the students will be ready for home (the Y /buses) at 1:50 p.m. Please ensure that your children know how they are arriving home on this early dismissal day.

Office Hours Starting Monday, August 2

The school office will be open on Monday, August 26 at 8:30 a.m. Office staff and administration will be available all of that week. New registrations will be accepted that week as well. Please drop off epi-pens, other medications and forms during this week. Parents are also invited to review the medical plans with the administration this week, if possible.

Tuesday, September 3, Back to School Grades 1 – 8

On your child’s report card is an OEN (Ontario Education Number).  As of August 30th, you will be able to log on to the board’s website and access your child’s class placement by using the OEN. As registrations continue to come in, please set your children up for success by explaining that class placements are subject to change based on enrollment. At any given time, it may be necessary to re-organize classes within the school to meet Ministry of Education standards. Please be mindful that many hours of care have been put into creating balanced classes to best meet the needs of our students and we ask that you trust our staff.

  3. Click on Elementary school placement
  4. Enter OEN, click search
  5. Your child’s name, school year and placement will be displayed

On the first day of school, teachers will be in our schoolyard holding a sign with their grade and name. For this first day only, you are welcome to bring your children into the schoolyard and see that they are settled in the proper line.

Parents and Guardians are respectfully asked to avoid entering the hallways or visiting the classrooms on the first day of school.  Our goal is to have students in their respective classrooms as quickly with as few disruptions as possible.

Letters for our new little friends will be sent home in July with your interview dates and times.
