Arrival of Grade One to Eight Students
Staff Supervision of the school playground begins at 8:10 a.m. Children should not be on school property prior to this time without parent supervision.
If it is raining, the students will enter the school through their regular entry doors at 8:10 a.m. and go to their classrooms where staff supervision will be provided.
Arrival of Kindergarten Students
Kindergarten students will gather in the Kindergarten yard upon their arrival, beginning at 8:10 a.m. If it is raining, students will be brought inside from the Kindergarten yard by the staff supervisors on duty.
All students who arrive late, either morning or afternoon, must report to the office before going to their classroom. Students arriving late require an admission slip which is then given to the teacher.
Please remember that we cannot assume that your child is safely in your care if he or she is not at school when the school day begins.
It is necessary for student safety that parents/guardians call in all student late arrivals and absences to the school office before 8:45 a.m. on each and every day of a child’s absence. Our voice mail is available 24 hours a day for your convenience.
The school is legally accountable for your child’s whereabouts during the instructional day. If a child is not specifically accounted for with either a phone call or a note for each day of their absence, we are required to contact all parent and emergency contact numbers provided to confirm the whereabouts of that child. If all efforts to reach parent and emergency contacts have been exhausted, we are obligated to call the Halton Regional Police as per HCDSB policy.Safe Arrival
