St. Joseph Tips
Our Catholic Graduate Expectation on being a Self-directed, Responsible, Lifelong learner teaches us to demonstrate a confident and positive sense of self and respect for the dignity and welfare of others. At school, students set appropriate goals and priorities in order to reflect on personal values, abilities and aspirations. Learning is not only a matter of absorbing information but a process of developing many other internal skills, like curiosity, perseverance and the ability to tackle tough challenges.
Three ways to prepare your children to become lifelong learners is to ask questions, let them fail and give them learning experiences. There are many great examples of life learners in our world. Take a moment with your child to read up on some of the greats. “Tell me and I forget, teach me and I may remember, involve me and I learn” ~ Benjamin Franklin.
Here is a beautiful rendition of the song “You Say” to provide you with some inspiration to keep going. The staff at St. Joseph believe in all of you and are here to support you. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AIF9WZjvFTE&feature=youtu.be
