“It is Christmas every time you let God love others through you…yes, it is Christmas every time you smile at your brother and offer him your hand.” – Mother Teresa

St. Joseph Tips

With the second Sunday of Advent upon us, we reflect on the word “PEACE”.  This is a time where we can look for situations in which we can be peacemakers.  Our challenge is to notice people who are not getting along and to think of one thing that we might do that we could help them get along better.  It is a time to reflect on how we respond in challenging situations and to always act as Jesus has taught us.  We need to pray for peace at home, at school, at work, in the nation and in the world.  “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they shall be called sons of God” ~ Matthew 5:9

Advent Outreach Initiatives

We have many Advent Outreach Initiatives and always appreciate the support of our families and school community members.  This year we have Project Warm, Food Drive, and our Angel Tree.  We also look forward to seeing all our families on Advent Night on Thursday, December 12 from 6 – 8 pm.  Please see our flyer for more information Advent Outreach 2019

Advent Night

We look forward to everyone joining us for a fun night of Decorating Gingerbread Cookies $3, Hot chocolate, listening to our School Choir Performance, and creating a family Advent Craft (1 per family).  Once again, we will have a photographer to take family photos.  We can’t wait for another fantastic Advent night!

Book Fair

A Scholastic Book Fair is coming to St. Joseph School on Tuesday, December 10 – 12.  A Book Fair is a wonderful opportunity to show our children we value books and reading. Our book fair will be open during our Advent Night from 6-8 pm and we invite you to come to browse and find books for the whole family, especially selections that can help your child stay connected with reading. Not only does this event help raise funds to purchase library resources, but it also encourages reading among our students.

Kindergarten Christmas Concert

We look forward to seeing all our parents/guardians for our Kindergarten Christmas Concert on Friday, December 13th at 1:30 pm.  The gym doors will be open at 1:00 pm.  After the concert, parents/guardians will have an opportunity to visit the classrooms and make a Christmas craft together.
