Weekly Update December 21

The Advent journey: Hope becomes peace. Peace becomes joy. Joy becomes love. Love becomes Christ.

~Bobby Schuller

Welcome to the last week of Advent and our final weekly update for 2020. A huge thank you to the whole community: parents, caregivers, students and staff, for working so hard to keep everyone safe and healthy during this very trying time. Thank you to the whole community for your generosity this Christmas season, please know it is greatly appreciated by all.

As we wrap this year and begin a new one we are still left with lots of uncertainty. We can see the light at the end of the tunnel, but we still have a ways to go before we find our way back to normalcy. We continue to take our direction from the Public Health Department and the HCDSB will communicate updates for the expectations of the new year. Students have brought home all items from their lockers, as they have done daily with our protocol, and items needed should we have to adapt to virtual learning. We recognize that this Christmas will be different but we hope you will all stay healthy and safe throughout the break and we hope we will be all back on January 4th as planned!

Celebrating Advent as a Family

  • In this Fourth Week of Advent, our final days of preparation before Christmas, we ask Christ to forgive us for our sins and, through His grace, to create us anew when He comes. When we look at the fourth candle, we remember God’s promise of peace. We recall the words of Jesus in John 14:27, “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you.” As we approach Christmas, let’s remember that God’s intention is a place of peace.
  • Since we are not together this week for our Advent Liturgy we’ve included this video. Wish for Peace – https://carfleo.com/2020/11/30/i-wish-for-peace-advent/

Gr. 7 & 8 Immunizations

  • Public Health will be offering immunization catch-up clinics by appointment only for Grade 7 and 8 students who have missed their vaccines.
  • Please review the following letter from Halton Region Public Health for more details and to book an appointment for your child: ImmunizationClinics-Dec2020.pdf
  • To learn more about immunizations, visit halton.ca/immunize or call 311.

Have a wonderful Christmas holiday! Stay safe and be well. A special Christmas video present will be sent out this week so please continue to monitor your emails.
