Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we have made the difficult but necessary decision to postpone all celebrations of First Communion.
At our parish, these celebrations are large and would present an undue risk both to those in attendance and their families and to the public health. In the coming weeks, the parish Pastoral Team will identify new dates for First Communion in the fall (October-early November). This decision affects all celebrations of First Communion currently scheduled at St. Matthew Parish. As soon as alternate dates are available, they will be publicized here and through our partners at our affiliate Catholic schools.
Those affected by this postponement are as follows:
- All students preparing for First Communion at one of our affiliated Catholic schools (St. Matthew, St. Bernadette, St. Teresa of Calcutta, St. Joan of Arc, St. John Paul II, St. Mary)
- All students preparing for First Communion directly through the parish or via the catechetical correspondence course (attending private, or non-Catholic public schools)
