Fuel for Kids Fundraiser:
On Thursday, October 17th, 2019, St. Gregory the Great school will partner up with our local FORTINOS store and host the “Fuel for Kids” fundraiser. This is a tremendous opportunity for our students, staff, and parents to raise money for our school. Our school will receive a visit from the FORTINOS Race Team and the actual driver; Dave Connelly. Dave and his team will arrive at our school to deliver our students a very unique “Show and Tell”. The “Show and Tell” will be an informative and educational talk about the various safety elements both in what Dave wears as a driver and what is designed into his actual racecar. Dave will speak to the students for approximately 20 minutes. At the end, Dave often has the school assembled outside for his final “donut” goodbye! That same evening the team will visit our FORTINOS store and put on a BBQ fundraiser for. School volunteers will help out with the event. 100% of the proceeds from the event goes back to the school. Additional at store activities and food will help raise money. There will be face painting, tattoos, a balloon artist, a bake sale, and more. Please help support our school! This will be a CASH ONLY EVENT!
Come join us on Thursday, October 17th. The event runs from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. Make it a family fun night and enjoy dinner in the company of our St. Gregory the Great Community. We look forward to seeing you there.
A reminder for students to return their pledge forms. The first 100 students to return their form will receive a fidget spinner.
The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to our school!
The slogan for the fall fair is Arctic Adventure: Snow Much to Read! You’ll find hundreds of quality books at our Scholastic Book Fair, with a wide assortment for all reading levels.
Students will receive a flyer highlighting some of the new and popular titles available for purchase at the fair. Upon their first visit to the fair, they will be able to make a wish list to bring home to share with you, then return for a second visit to make their purchase.
The flyer also contains a special ballot for a draw sponsored by Scholastic. The prize is $50 in books – $25 for the winning student to spend at the fair AND $25 for their teacher to spend as well!
A Family Night will be held Thursday, October 24th from 7 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. so that parents, guardians, and relatives have an opportunity to visit the Fair.

Payment can be made by cash, Visa, MasterCard, ApplePay, or cheque made payable to the school.
Starting at the end of this month, we will be running the P.A.L.S program at St. Gregory under the supervision of CYC Ms. Bromley. P.A.L.S stands for Playground Activity Leaders in Schools and will be run by our grade 6 leaders for our primary students. P.A.L.S will be running every Thursday during lunchtime recess. The purpose of P.A.L.S is to promote inclusivity for all during recess. Our leaders are very eager to get this program started. P.A.L.S motto is “there is always room for one more!”
