Early Dismissal on Last Day of School
Please note that on Friday, June 30 we will be dismissing students at 2:15 pm, so please make arrangements for their care. Buses will also pick up at that time. As well, please remember to send lunch to school that day.
New School Hours for 2017!
Halton Student Transportation Services (HSTS) plan and schedule all school bus routes for the Halton District School Board and the Halton Catholic District School Board. In order to maximize efficiencies, buses are used for as many school runs as possible in accordance with Board Policy II-24 Home-to-School Student Transportation. In collaboration with the HSTS, the Halton Catholic District School Board has made a change to the start and end times of six schools, including St. Gregory the Great Catholic School. Thankfully, the changes for our school are not drastic. Please see below for our new school day times. Please note the start of supervision times, which will be the start of our Kiss & Ride program as well.

9:10 am – Opening Bell (Start of the instructional day)
10:55-11:10 am – Morning Recess
12:00 pm – 1:00 pm – Lunch Hour

Last Week for Hot Lunch Programs
Please note that today is our LAST DAY for Lunchbox and Thursday will be our LAST DAY for Pizza hot lunch programs for the school year. We thank our parent volunteers for their hard work this year.
Lost and Found
Please encourage your child to look for lost items in the lost and found over the next week. Any unclaimed items will be donated to those less fortunate at the end of the year.
Warmer Weather Reminders
We recommend that your child has sunscreen applied in the morning before arriving at school – hats are recommended as well. We ask that parents ensure children have appropriate footwear for active play at all times – flip flops are discouraged for this reason.

Grade 8 Graduation
God Bless our grade 8 students as they celebrate their graduation. Our graduation liturgy and ceremony will take place on Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at 1:30 pm.
Congratulations to all of our grade 8 students! Our school community extends our best wishes to you for your future endeavours. As you prepare to leave St. Gregory the Great School and enter a new phase in your lives, continue to live by the values that the staff of our school and your families have shared with you. May God Bless all of you with good health, good friends, and happiness. Always use the gifts that God has given you, and do not be afraid to dream of great things!
Staffing changes for 2017
The arrival of the end of June leads to our school needing to bid farewell to some staff members. We wish the following staff members good luck as they assume roles in Catholic Education at new school locations in September:
- Ms. Cupido
- Mrs. Monaco
- Mr. Gismondi

We thank these staff members for the incredible dedication they have shown to our students, and wish them much success in their future positions in Catholic Education
