Elementary School Cross Country Meet POSTPONED:
Our upcoming Elementary School Cross Country Meet has been postponed until the Spring of 2020.
The Elementary School Cross Country Meet is an annual event, organized by the Halton Catholic Athletic Association (HCAA) in consultation with our Curriculum Services staff. Each year, several students in Grades 4-8 from each of our HCDSB elementary schools participate in regional meets for Burlington, North Halton (Milton and Halton Hills) and Oakville.
Unfortunately, in light of the job action that is currently in place in our schools, we cannot guarantee that we will be able to provide adequate supervision for all of the students who were set to participate in next week’s Cross-Country meets.
After careful consideration, and in the interest of ensuring we can provide supervision to allow for maximum participation of students with all abilities, we have decided to postpone this year’s Cross Country regional meets, originally scheduled to take place on October 8, 9, and 10, 2019.
The 2019-2020 Elementary School Cross Country Meets will now take place on April 21, 22, and 23, 2020. More specific information will follow later in the school year.
We know this will be disappointing for the students who have been preparing to participate over the past several weeks, however we look forward to hosting our 2019-2020 Elementary School Cross Country Meet in the Spring.
The safety and well-being of our students is our highest priority, and we will continue to focus our efforts on creating and sustaining safe, inclusive school communities.
