June 19, 2020 Update

As we enter into our final week of distance learning, I want to express my sincere thanks for the incredible partnership between home and school during this period of school closure.  As a school staff, we are blessed and are privileged to be able to work in such a wonderful school community.  Your support and trust in our staff is sincerely appreciated.

A few updates and informational items for next week:

  • All families have a received curbside pick up times to collect student items, and drop school items off next week.  Please ensure that you have read through the Parent Protocol which has been posted on our website here:  Parent Protocol  It is imperative that you arrive on time for your pick up / drop off window, practice physical distancing, avoid social gatherings, and depart the school grounds promptly once you have picked up your child’s items.  Your understanding and support is appreciated.  Should you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me via email at witterm@hcdsb.org
  • As shared earlier this week, Report Cards will be distributed by the school board this year via email on Wednesday, June 24, 2020.  As always, if you have a question about your child’s progress please feel free to send an email to their teacher.  Our staff members are happy to discuss your child’s achievements this year.
  • We offer our congratulations to our grade 8 students as they will celebrate their virtual graduation on Tuesday, June 23, 2020.  Our staff members enjoyed our personal visits to our graduates this week and we wish them well as they transition to Christ the King Secondary School in the fall.  A special thank you to Fr. Dave for celebrating a virtual graduation mass for our students on Tuesday, June 16, 2020.  We also thank Fr. Dave for all of his spiritual guidance and support that he has offered this year to our students and staff.

As we draw closer to the end of the school year, it is a time where as a school community we need to say goodbye to students, families and staff members who will be relocating to a new school this fall.  To that end, we express our sincere thanks, best wishes, and God’s Blessings to the following staff members as they have been assigned to new locations for the 2020-2021 school year:

  • Ms. Blazevic
  • Ms. Emerson
  • Ms. Longo
  • Ms. Tripodi
  • Ms. Dolcic

We also thank Ms. Maida and Ms. Uliana for serving our school community in the role of long term occasional teachers during the period of distance learning.  We wish them both continued success with our school board in the fall.
