April 26, 2019 Update

St. Francis of Assisi School will celebrate Catholic Education Week from Monday, May 6, 2019 to Friday, May 10, 2019.  Throughout this week, our students will be involved in many special activities. Please click here to view a schedule of events taking place during Catholic Education Week.  Parents/Guardians/Family Members are invited to visit and participate with their child’s class during these times.


St. Francis of Assisi School will be hosting an Applied Behaviour Analysis (ABA) for All Bonanza on Friday, May 3, 2019.  This event has been planned by our board’s ABA for All Working Group and is designed to bring awareness of what Educational ABA is and to demonstrate how the various disciplines within education come together to utilize ABA methodology. The goal is to highlight and celebrate all of the amazing work being done across the system by educators using ABA methodology for any and all students who benefit from it.  Parents / Guardians are welcome to attend the event to learn more about how ABA is being utilized in our school and board.  You can learn more about the day here:  ABA for All Bonanza!


On Monday, April 29, 2019 the Halton Catholic District School Board will host its annual Student Award of Excellence celebration.  The Student Award of Excellence is presented annually to one student from every school who demonstrates outstanding qualities in the areas of leadership, faith development, family commitment, rapport with teachers and other students, involvement in school affairs, and community activities. We are very proud to share that Arijana S. from Mr. Culhane’s grade 8 class has been selected as our school’s recepient of this award.   Congratulations Arijana!


Book Fair!

Ms. Pemberton has organized a Scholastic Book Fair at our school during Catholic Education Week.  Students will be able to preview books on Friday, May 3, 2019, and make purchases on Monday, May 6, 2019, Tuesday, May 7, 2019, and Wednesday, May 8, 2019.  On these days, the book fair is also open for family members to visit and make purchases from 8:00am to 11:45am, and 1:15pm to 4:00pm.
