Next week we enter into the most Holy time of the liturgical year – Holy Week. During Holy Week we reenact, relive, and participate in the passion of Jesus Christ leading up to the Resurrection on Easter Sunday. Holy Week observances include:
- Palm Sunday – the entrance of Jesus into Jerusalem.
- Holy Thursday – the institution of Communion and the betrayal by Judas.
- Good Friday – the arrest, trial, crucifixion, death, and burial of Jesus Christ.
- Holy Saturday – the Sabbath on which Jesus rested in the grave.
All family members are invited to our school on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at 1:30pm, as we share in Christ’s passion through the presentation of the Stations of the Cross by our intermediate students. You can learn more about Holy Week, and review the celebrations taking place at Holy Cross Parish here: Holy Week
From May 31, 2019 to June 16, 2019, communities across Canada will be collectively tracking their physical activity minutes in a bid to be crowned Canada’s Most Active Community. The Town of Halton Hills is actively encouraging all students to track their “active” minutes over this two week period. You can learn more here: Community Better Challenge!
A reminder that Friday, April 12, 2019 is a Professional Development Day. School staff will be participating in workshops related to instruction in Mathematics, along with Health and Safety.
Our detailed event calendar for the week of April 15, 2019:
Our school will be participating in the Halton Hills 22 Minute Makeover happening for Earth Day. We will be working together to clean up our school yard and the community around our school.
