“Although you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and rejoice with an indescribable and glorious joy.” 1 Peter 1:8

A few updates for the week of April 1, 2019:

As part of Bullying Awareness & Prevention Week, students were challenged to develop creative arts-based public service messages with the theme of respect, positive relationships, and inclusion. Video, poster and song submissions were due in February.  St. Francis of Assisi has been selected as a finalist in the Video category!  We are encouraging all of our students to cast their vote in support of our school submission.  You can learn more here:  See the Problem, Be the Solution;

Light it Up Blue!  Every April, Autism Speaks and Autism Speaks Canada kick off World Autism Month beginning with United Nations sanctioned World Autism Awareness Day on April 2.  We are encouraging all students and staff members to wear blue on Tuesday, April 2, 2019 in support and recognition of people living with autism.

A portion of our chocolate fundraising proceeds has been allocated to construct a sun shelter in our school yard. However, we can always use the support of our school community for this project. If you or someone you know has access to building materials – wood, cement, fasteners, etc. – that can be donated to our project or provided at a discounted price, please contact Mr. Witter at the school;

Our Focus on Faith theme for the month of April is Community and the Common Good.  Our grade 3 students will lead us in prayer and reflection on this theme on Friday, April 5, 2019 beginning at 1:30pm;

God Bless our grade 2 students as they will celebrate their First Reconciliation on Saturday, March 30, 2019 beginning at 1:00pm at Holy Cross Church;
