Parents and Guardians have the right and responsibility to participate in the education of their children and can contribute to their child’s development in a number of ways. St. Francis of Assisi School values the opinion of our Catholic School Council with respect to learning opportunities for children and for improved operations within our school.
The Catholic School Council shall be the official advisory group to the Principal. A Catholic School Council may make recommendations to the Principal of the school or to the board that established the council on any matter. (Ont. Reg. 612/00). The Principal shall respond to all advice advanced by the local Catholic School Council, (Ont. Reg. 612/00), and be reflected in the meeting minutes.
You are invited to please consider a candidacy for the position of Parent Representative. In accordance with Ministry Regulations (Ont. Reg. 612/613), the following timelines will be followed regarding Catholic School Council elections:

We invite you to consider nominating yourself or another parent candidate via the nomination form to the Principal. Should we receive less than 12 nominations, and candidates fulfill the requirements outlined in the regulations, they will be acclaimed and informed of the first meeting date.

If an election is necessary, names of candidates and a one page information page, if available, will be posted on our school website.
