Grade 7 School-based Vaccine Clinics – Cancelled for 2019-2020 School Year
The Halton Region Public Health department has made the decision to CANCEL the third round of Grade 7 school-based vaccine clinics for the 2019-2020 school year, due to the school closures related to COVID-19. This round would have included the second and final doses for both the Hepatitis B and HPV 9 vaccines, offered to Grade 7 students who received the first doses of these vaccines in the fall of 2019. Halton Region Public Health will reschedule these clinics for the 2020-2021 school year and will let families know once the clinic rescheduled dates are finalized.
Parents and guardians can contact their healthcare providers directly if they wish to have their child receive this vaccine through their family doctor. Please report any vaccines your child receives outside of school by visiting: halton.ca/immunize or by calling 311.

Promoting Well-Being: Family Assets
Family Assets are the everyday things families do to be strong, even in challenging times. They are the actions we take to build healthy relationships and healthy family members. Whether you are a child, teen or parenting adult, everyone in the family plays a role in building these assets.
Families are stronger when they share meals, traditions, and activities together, and when family members know they can depend on each other. Consider some of the following ways to establish routines in your home:
how you celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, and milestones in life. For some families, these may include religious or spiritual traditions such as worship, prayer, sacred readings, or music. Whatever the specific tradition, tell stories about its importance, history, and meaning—both across generations and for each member of your family.

Upcoming Events and Activities at St. Elizabeth Seton
May is Hearing Awareness Month which is an entire month dedicated to educating the public about the importance of hearing health. Hearing awareness is very important and we would like to highlight this by providing an opportunity to share information and activities around the impact that a hearing loss can have on individuals who are deaf and hard of hearing as well as hearing protection and conservation.
HCDSB is dedicating May 11-15, 2020 to promote Hearing Awareness amongst our students and school community. Help us to celebrate awareness and Dress Loud on Friday!
