All Souls Day – November 2
On All Souls’ Day we pray for the faithfully departed. We remember deceased family and friends. We pray that all those who have died, through the mercy of God, will rest in peace.
November is Indigenous Awareness Month
Throughout the month of November and during this school year, HCDSB students and staff will acknowledge the contributions and legacy of First Nation, Métis and Inuit peoples in Canada. Our National Anthem that plays over the PA System in the mornings will be in English, French, and in the Anishinaabemowin language during this month to show solidarity with the Indigenous peoples.
Halloween Danceathon Fundraising Update
Thank you to our many parent volunteers under the leadership of Catholic School Council members Mrs. Shannon and Mrs. Lindsay who helped to organize our Danceathon fundraiser event. The gym looked great and the prizes were amazing. It was a huge success and the students had a wonderful time. We raised over $10,000! We are truly grateful for the generosity of our parent community as this will benefit our students in continuing to support their learning and achievement.
Grade 8 Corpus Mini-Highschool Day
Our grade 8 students will be visiting Corpus in the morning on Wednesday, November 6 for a Mini- High School day experience. Students will be walking and they are reminded them to dress appropriately for the weather.
Ready, Set, Whoa! Grade 8 Parent Information Resources
Grade 8 parents, please see the link below for the Halton Region’s Ready, Set, Whoa! website. You’ll find information and resources to help you navigate and support your teen’s journey through the next stage of their life.
As your teen gets ready for high school, you may be having mixed emotions. You may feel excited about the new opportunities that they will have, but you may also be concerned about how your teen will adjust to their new environment.
Parent-Teacher Interview Communication
Progress Reports will be sent home on November 20. Parent-Teacher Interviews will take place the evening of November 21 and on the November 22 PA Day. Communication with regards to preferred interview times went home on Wednesday, October 30. Please return the interview request form one per family, by Wednesday, November 13.
Clocks Fall Back
Don’t forget to move your clocks back an hour on Sunday so that you are on time for school on Monday!
Developmental Assets are traits, values and experiences that all young people need to be healthy, successful and reach their full potential.
These building blocks, or Developmental Assets®, are grounded in research on child and adolescent development, risk prevention and resiliency. The more assets young people have, the more likely they are to thrive, make healthy choices, and avoid harmful behaviours–Halton Region

Classroom teachers have passes for interested students to attend the LEGO Club in the LLC at lunch time.
Students will have the opportunity to try different sports led by our Corpus Christi High School students and supervised by staff.
