All Souls Day – November 2

On All Souls’ Day we pray for the faithfully departed.  We remember deceased family and friends. We pray that all those who have died, through the mercy of God, will rest in peace.

November is Indigenous Awareness Month

Throughout the month of November and during this school year, HCDSB students and staff will acknowledge the contributions and legacy of First Nation, Métis and Inuit peoples in Canada. Our National Anthem that plays over the PA System in the mornings will be in English, French, and in the Anishinaabemowin language during this month to show solidarity with the Indigenous peoples.

Halloween Danceathon Fundraising Update

Thank you to our many parent volunteers under the leadership of Catholic School Council members Mrs. Shannon and Mrs. Lindsay who helped to organize our Danceathon fundraiser event. The gym looked great and the prizes were amazing. It was a huge success and the students had a wonderful time. We raised over $10,000! We are truly grateful for the generosity of our parent community as this will benefit our students in continuing to support their learning and achievement.

Grade 8 Corpus Mini-Highschool Day

Our grade 8 students will be visiting Corpus in the morning on Wednesday, November 6 for a Mini- High School day experience. Students will be walking and they are reminded them to dress appropriately for the weather.

Promoting Wellness

Developmental Assets are traits, values and experiences that all young people need to be healthy, successful and reach their full potential.

These building blocks, or Developmental Assets®, are grounded in research on child and adolescent development, risk prevention and resiliency. The more assets young people have, the more likely they are to thrive, make healthy choices, and avoid harmful behaviours–Halton Region
