He is not here; He is RISEN – Mark 16:6
A reminder that there is no school on Monday as it is Easter Monday. We hope our families enjoy a blessed Easter. Rejoice, He is risen!
ECO- Friendly Initiatives – April 23-26
Earth day is Monday, April 22. Last week the staff and students participated in “Power-Hour” by powering down to help kick off our Earth Week initiatives. We will continue with a few more initiatives this week too. We hope staff and students will join the challenges to be Eco-friendly:
- Tuesday is “Reusable Water Bottle” day: We would like to encourage all students to bring a reusable water bottle to school and use our water filling stations through-out the day.
- Wednesday is “Walk or Ride Your Bike to School” day: We encourage students to walk or bike today if they can. We will be tracking our participation today!
- Thursday is “Pick Up Trash” day: Staff will choose a time and provide students with disposable gloves, garbage bags and a map of the schoolyard with a designated area to assist with our yard clean-up.
- Friday is “No-Waste Lunch” day: Students will be encouraged to pack lunch in a reusable container, no paper or plastic bags and to take home any uneaten food to reduce waste today.
Thank you for being stewards of the earth. Together we can do our part to make a difference and protect God’s gift of creation by being Eco-friendlier!
Kindergarten Orientation Meeting – April 24
There will be a meeting for parents new to the Kindergarten program on Wednesday, April 24 at 6:30 PM. The meeting will take place upstairs in the Library Learning Commons. We hope to meet all our new families to welcome them to our St. Elizabeth Seton Community!
Catholic Education Week May 5 – 10
Each year, the Catholic community of Ontario engages in a week-long celebration of the unique identity and distinctive contributions of Catholic education during Catholic Education Week. This year’s celebration is entitled, “Catholic Education: Living as Joyful Disciples” and will be held during the week of May 5 – May 10, 2019. “Our Catholic schools help to form joyful disciples as hearts and minds are opened to the transforming love of God and to the flame of faith in action. On a daily basis, Catholic schools demonstrate the joy of believing and witness the Good News to the communities that they serve.”
We are preparing for Catholic Education Week and we will be sharing a flyer soon listing all the wonderful things we are doing to celebrate Catholic Education!
