Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week

During Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week – November 15th– 19th, 2021 – Ontario students, school staff, and parents are encouraged to learn more about bullying and its effect on our student’s learning and well-being. By participating in Bullying Awareness and Prevention Week, our school will be focusing on positive change, the well-being of our school community, and promoting a safer learning environment for all.

Our Students will be engaged in the following this upcoming week:

  • Special daily announcements from school administration, staff and student leaders
  • Monday kick off – Read aloud with Mrs. Babic and Mr. Chininea
  • Tuesday, November 16th will be Pink Shirt Day (uniform bottoms) to promote love and care for one another
  • Kindergarten to Grade 3 Presentations from our Child & Youth Counsellor, Mrs. Jankowiak (November 16th)
  • Anti-bullying pledge for all students
  • Grade 6 to 8 Presentation from Halton Regional Police Liaison Officer, Cst. Carrie Foster (November 17th)
  • Classroom lessons/activities

Our students in grades 4-8 will also participate in the “The Saidat Show” on November 16th, with learning focused on “Exercising Social Responsibility”. The hope is to remind students that they are unique individuals, who make a difference through their decision making, as well as an impact in creating a positive learning environment for everyone.

When we realize that our actions and choices create the world we live in, we can then begin to find ways to get along and stand up for others.” – Saidat.

While eliminating all forms of bullying is a difficult task, we will continue our efforts to promote our daily message at St. Dominic, asking our students to treat each other as Jesus taught us to – with Dignity, Kindness and Respect. Please continue to have daily conversations with your children about supporting our message and the importance of caring for one another.

11th Annual HCCF Evening with Bishop Crosby – Virtual Edition!
When? Wed. Nov. 17, 2021 – Reception at 6:30pm; Main Event at 7:00-8:30pm

The Halton Catholic Children’s Foundation (HCCF) supports HCDSB students in need with basic necessities (i.e. food and clothing) & with school activities that have a fee (i.e. team or club fees).
With this funding the foundation has gratefully reduced the stress impacting the family and helped to ensure access to basic needs.” – HCDSB Social Worker
HCCF needs our help so they can continue to say “yes” to helping HCDSB students with financial barriers to learning.

They are looking for companies to be a sponsor at the event and for community members to purchase tickets and to donate.

It is NOT another Zoom call. We are using so you can have fun and interact with your friends. Enjoy a meal and your favourite beverage while you catch up with others.
Join the Halton Catholic Community for an entertaining experience where you can connect with your friends and hear Bishop Crosby’s stories, sense of humour and wisdom.
