Safe Arrival

Parents are reminded to phone the school at 905-702-8001 prior to the start of the school day and report absences and late arrivals. You may leave a message on our phone system. This is part of the Safe Arrival Program that is used at our school.  Leaving a message with the homeroom teacher is not sufficient in case the teacher is absent on the same day as your child.  It is our responsibility to ensure the whereabouts of each student and that they have arrived safely at school.  We take this responsibility very seriously.

If your child is late for school due to illness, appointment etc., they must report to the office for a late slip before going to class.  If your child is absent in the morning and comes to school in the afternoon, they need to come to the office for a late slip when they arrive.  Also, a written note in the agenda is required when students need to be called away from school for appointments. Students must be signed in and out of the office when leaving or returning anytime during the school day.

The school is legally accountable for your child’s whereabouts when they are not in school, and we will proceed to contact all work and emergency contact numbers provided within the first half hour of school. Please be advised that if all effort to reach parent and emergency contacts have been exhausted, we are obliged to call the Halton Regional Police as per HCDSB policy.
