Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms. … If anyone serves, they should do so with the strength God provides, so that in all things God may be praised through Jesus Christ. 1 PETER 4:10-11
God asks each one of us to help serve his people. Typically, we host a food drive for Thanksgiving but this year we have chosen to do things a bit different. “These are extraordinary times and now, more than ever, our communities need our support.” We can all help to make a difference by supporting our families in need within our school community and the community at large.
In order to help replenish the Georgetown food bank, we will be starting a food drive on Tuesday October 20th, 2020 until Monday, November 9th, 2020. If you are able to contribute, please have your child bring in a non-perishable food item(s) to school in the next 3 weeks. We will collect the food and then donate it to the Georgetown Food Bank. We can all help when help is most needed.
Matthew 25:35-40 For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me drink, I was a stranger and you welcomed me, I was naked and you clothed me, I was sick and you visited me, I was in prison and you came to me.’ Then the righteous will answer him, saying, ‘Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you drink? And when did we see you a stranger and welcome you, or naked and clothe you? And when did we see you sick or in prison and visit you?’
