St.Catherine of Alexandria Weekly Update for March 2-6

  • Wednesday, March 4th– Public Speaking Festival in the gym at 1:30pm. Parents of competitors will be notified ahead of time. All parents/guardians are welcome to attend
  • Tuesday, March 10th– School Confessions in the gym for grades 3-8 (10:00 AM)
  • Monday, March 16th- Friday, March 20th– MARCH BREAK
  • Mary Mother of God Parish: offers a monthly Mass for Catholics (young and old), with sensory sensitivities including Autism, Down Syndrome, Sensory Processing Disorder and ADHD. On the second Sunday of the month at 3:00pm we will offer Mass with less sensory input. You can expect lower lights, softer music, low gluten host, smaller host portions, shorter and more literal homilies and the freedom to move around if necessary. Most important, you’ll receive the Eucharist while surrounded by fellow worshipers with a welcoming attitude. Feel free to bring whatever supports you may need, including fidgets, weighted blankets, noise cancelling headphones, sunglasses or comfort toys.   • Learning Commons: Forest Friday, March 6th- 11:00am-11:45 am The Mystery of Black Hollow Lane, author Julia Nobel will virtually visit our school. 12:00-12:45pm- Orange for the Sunsets– author Tina Athaide will virtually visit our school library and students in grades 4-6 may sign up and spend lunch recess in her company.
  • International Women’s Day (March 8th)- the library will be marking it by reading The Paper Bag Princess by Robert Munsch to our primary and junior grades. It’s a classic story of empowerment and one of Mrs.Raposo-DeSousa’s favourites!
  • Book Fair Volunteers Needed- The Scholastic book fair is coming to our school May 1- May 11 and we need some adult volunteers. Parents/Guardians who are interested in helping please email
