School Update – Week of November 9, 2020

St Brigid Weekly Update – Week of November 9, 2020

Dear Parents,

On Wednesday, we gathered virtually for our Remembrance Day liturgy led by the Grade 5 classes.  We are thankful each day for the sacrifices that have been made, and continue to be made, by those who serve our country.  We continue to honour their service through prayers and actions for peace each day.

Mark your calendars!  The fun and excitement of a Scholastic Book Fair is coming to our school!  To adapt to our changing needs, Scholastic has developed a Virtual Book Fair to provide an opportunity for our students and families to experience the joy of reading together.  When it’s time to show, visit our school’s Virtual Book Fair site using this link:

We are hosting a “Family Night” on November 25th with FREE shipping on all orders from 6 p.m. – 8 p.m.!  Watch for news leading up to our Scholastic Virtual Book Fair!

A message from the Georgetown Bread Basket:

Thank you so much for the generous donation this past Thanksgiving. We are truly blessed to have schools, like St. Brigid, continuing to support us even though we understand that times are tough this year. Your huge donation will go a long way in helping to purchase needed items for our clients.

Parent-Teacher interviews will take place virtually on the evening of November 26th and on the P.A. Day scheduled for November 27th.  The online system allows parents to schedule interviews directly with teachers.  Parents received a message with the link and a school code via School Messenger.  Please check your email for the code. For security purposes, codes are not posted on public websites. You will be able to schedule interviews until November 20th at 3:00 p.m.  Please make note of your confirmation number when you book your interviews.  Prior to November 26th, staff will communicate a link to families for their virtual meeting.

This coming week, we will recognize Bullying Awareness and Prevention week.  As a school, we will come together to raise awareness regarding safe school, equity, inclusion and gospel values.

Information & Reminders for the upcoming week:
